Automated Hotel Parking Systems

Hotel car parking is a necessity, not an option. Automated Parking Systems provide hotels and hotel guests with more convenience, satisfaction and security compared to conventional solutions.

Hotel Parking Challenge

Car parking at a hotel or hotel parking is a critical element of the "guest experience" for those in the hospitality industry. Managing the hotel-parking portion of the guest experience is especially difficult for hotels in urban settings. The hotel may have no parking, thus requiring guests to find their own parking. The hotel may have its own parking but it's often limited. Hotels may provide valet parking but guests get anxious about complete strangers driving their cars and parking them in unknown places. Then there are other issues such as parking safety, security, convenience, waiting time, etc.

Hotel Parking Experience

The ideal hotel parking experience would include the following:

  • Plenty of highly-secure, indoor parking spaces available
  • Cars locked by guests and not touched or driven by anyone else
  • Ultra-fast, convenient and very safe parking and retrieval of cars
  • Guests leaving with a positive impression of the hotel parking arrangements

Ideal Hotel Parking

Fortunately, Automated Parking Systems or APS can meet or exceed all of the conditions for ideal hotel parking as described above.

An APS is an automatic, robotic valet parking system. The guest drives into a "lobby" in the APS, exits and locks the car, takes a ticket and exits directly into the hotel or onto the sidewalk next to the hotel. The system automatically transports the car to a parking space protected from people and the weather. Skyline APS provide up to twice as many parking spaces as conventional car parks and are much less expensive to build and operate when parking is underground.

For adding hotel parking spaces, especially in congested urban locations, APS are the ideal solution.

  • Wasting Energy Driving Nowhere
by ladinacaluori on January 8, 2018 at 8:52 am

In an age so heavily focused on climate change and reducing fossil energy use, it is remarkable how one type of common wasteful behavior receives so little attention: parking in multi-story car parks. Perhaps it’s easily overlooked because we tend to mindlessly travel in circles and up and down ramps, forgetting that we’re still driving.  The reality is that cars in a single large city can end up driving hundreds of millions of kilometers each year…inside car parks. But there is a solution to this wasteful practice.Driving Huge NumbersIn a car park with a few hundred parking spaces, the average car tends to cover around half a kilometer driving in and out. If just two hundred cars are parked, this equates to roughly 100 kilometers of driving around the car park. Depending on turnover, those 100 kilometers can become 50,000, 100,000 or even more than 300,000 kilometers of driving accumulated inside a single medium car park in just one year.Parking without DrivingAutomated Parking Systems (APS) eliminate all wasted driving in car parks. In an APS, cars are moved mechanically to and from parking spaces without the need to drive. This allows APS to use up to 60% less energy (electrical) than the fossil fuel energy consumed by the same number of cars parking in a car park. Moreover, this is just one of numerous ways APS save energy and fight climate change.Zero Is BetterZero wins every time when it comes to polluting the environment, and automated parking systems offer plenty of wonderful zeroes. Compared to parking in a conventional car park, cars parking in an APS...Drive zero kilometers Burn zero liters of fuel Create zero tons of CO2 Consume zero liters of motor oil and kilos of tiresContact Skyline Parking to find out all of the different ways APS help you save money, energy and the planet.

  • Developer Reveals his Views on Skyline APS
by ladinacaluori on June 26, 2017 at 7:56 am

Ever wondered what motivates people to purchase automated parking systems or ‘APS’? Or why do people opt for Skyline Parking to supply them? One forward-looking property developer has shared his thoughts in a fascinating interview, which provides an insight into those questions.Sam Budhdeo is the visionary developer responsible for the world’s most sustainable residential tower, The Beacon, which is located in Hemel Hempstead, just outside of London. As The Beacon gets ready to launch, we take a closer look at some of the quotes from Mr. Budhdeo's interview to answer a few frequently asked questions about why to choose an APS from Skyline. What inspired you to build The Beacon?"Quite simply: my children – the strong desire to leave a positive legacy for them and future generations in term of health, quality of life and financial opportunity."How does the Skyline Automated Parking System support your vision for The Beacon?“In so many ways and especially compared to the original conventional car parking design."“At a purely financial level, the increased site density, reduced Community Infrastructure Levy and reduced excavation costs offer huge savings.”“In addition, there are far fewer prerequisites for the building itself. For instance, no sprinkler system, fresh air ventilation, fire venting or CCTV is required.”"These [building] factors alone totaled nearly £5 million on The Beacon. Plus, the saving from the reduced operating cost to run and maintain these systems for the life of the building."But look beyond the financial benefits – what value would you put on your children’s future health…""Then consider the benefits this system gives the residents…""An underground parking provision combined with the Skyline solution, which requires over 50% less volume than the alternative, can make a critical difference in whether or not a development is viable."What is the single biggest challenge you have had to overcome?"Typically, designers and cost consultants look at simple cost comparisons such as as the cost per parking space of a conventional parking system compared to an Automated Parking System (APS). This ignores the bigger picture; consider the holistic cost savings and the opportunities available if you use a Skyline APS to increase the site density.”Read the fascinating full interview with Sam Budhdeo at The Beacon – Interview with Sam Budhdeo.

  • Construction phases of an Automated Parking System
by ladinacaluori on May 15, 2017 at 7:16 am

One of the most significant benefits of an automated parking system over a conventional car park is an easier and more cost-effective construction process. Thanks to the use of automation to park cars, less space is required to accommodate the needs of people, resulting in a smaller building volume. In addition, pre-fabricated building materials can be put together in record time, greatly simplifying the construction process and saving money at the same time. • Customer Comments about Skyline Parking APS
by ladinacaluori on March 27, 2017 at 10:50 am

What do customers have to say about Skyline Parking and its products? One customer, Remo B. Managing Director at auto züri west (azw), has plenty to say. azw is a car dealership in the Zurich area that had an Automated Parking System (APS) from Skyline Parking installed in 2013. Besides discussing his Skyline APS, Remo B. explains some of the remarkable financial and operational benefits that the APS has provided his car dealership. Here are a few excerpts from an interview with him about his experience with Skyline Parking…"The exhibition tower [Skyline APS] gives customers a truly unique experience when they collect their vehicles.""…the main benefit of the Skyline tower is SPACE! We can fit 128 cars – and it’s a very small area. The higher number of on-site vehicles for customers to browse has resulted in an increase in sales.""The tower also has an impact on our image/reputation. It has become a symbol of azw and is instantly recognizable!""Needless to say, the tower has also led to the optimization of working processes. Everything is much quicker now – vehicle handling times have been reduced enormously. Now everybody has more time for sales."“The integration of the wash system is another economic benefit, as it saves on personnel costs.”"I am really pleased with it. The tower has become a reliable working tool for us. Even at the very low temperatures we experienced this winter and in over 30 degree heat, it has worked perfectly.""…I wouldn’t hesitate to place my trust in another Skyline product."In the rest of the interview, Remo B. goes into more detail about the APS product itself, support from Skyline Parking, any future integration plans and much more.Read the entire Skyline Parking Customer Interview.See the Skyline Parking Tower in action.#APS #skylineparking #automated-parking-system #skyline-t-park #happyparken

  • Planning for Better Hospital Parking
by ladinacaluori on December 22, 2016 at 8:14 am

Hospitals and medical centers all over the world struggle to cope with the ever-increasing demand for their services and the accompanying increase in demand for parking. Urban hospitals, in particular, often have to choose between using the scarce land available to add additional floor space for services and parking areas. Fortunately, there are possible solutions that make parking much more space efficient, thus allowing hospitals to enhance both their services and parking supply at the same time. The High Cost of Inferior Hospital ParkingFor a hospital to run efficiently, it’s essential that patients, staff and visitors are able to come and go easily. When hospital parking is in short supply, problems may occur:Delayed or missed treatments Increased backlogs due to rescheduled appointments Loss of productivity and income Heightened anxiety and stress among patients, staff and visitors Declining patient satisfaction and reputationWhen hospital expansion planners allow medical services to take precedence over parking, the result can include significantly increasing parking costs, wasting valuable land, aggravating surrounding communities and inconveniencing or endangering patients and staff.More Hospital Parking in Less SpaceAutomated parking systems or APS make it possible for hospitals to use land more efficiently in order to meet the growing demand for services and parking. By removing people from the parking process, APS can more than double the number parking spaces offered by multi-story car parks (no driving lanes, no ramps, no walkways, stairwells or elevators). APS can provide parking in small or irregularly shaped areas that are unsuitable for conventional parking solutions. This is ideal for creating parking spaces in the unusual areas left over after numerous hospital expansions. Moreover, APS are inherently safer, more secure and easier for people with disabilities to access than conventional parking facilities such as standard car parks.Planning Is Key to Better ParkingHospitals that include car parking at the earliest stages of expansion planning are likely to end up making best possible use of the land. This is especially true when the scarcity of land requires a highly space-efficient parking solution. In order to achieve maximum land savings by opting for a flexible and very compact APS solution, it’s best to plan for this at the concept stage. If your hospital or medical center needs to expand its parking facilities, talk tothe experts at Skyline Parking to learn more about the different high-density parking options available.Deutsch / Francais
